The party also said it would organise a joint conference with the CPI (M) in Chennai on October 7.

According to a CPI release, a decision to this effect was taken at the party's state executive committe meeting held at Tirupur on Thursday, attended among others by CPI national secretary D Raja.

The agitation would be held in district headquarters, the release said adding that national level leaders were expected to participate in the joint conference at Chennai.
