In a letter to the prime minister, CPI-M leader and Rajya Sabha MP T K Rangarajan said the workers were undergoing “untold miseries eking out their living”.

The employers of some of the labourers had not returned their passports, he said and requested the Prime Minister to take up the issue with the Saudi Arabian government and ensure that they return at the earliest.
