The party on Monday warned that if the government did not listen to their repeated pleas, they would intensify their agitation.

CPI(ML) sources said their recently concluded three-day statewide demonstration did not trigger any response from the government and the party has now decided to stage a symbolic blockade on June 26.

Bhattacharrya was arrested on March one, 2001, following a demonstration in front of the Assembly that turned violent in protest against police firing at Tapkara.

The police also framed a case charging the leader with attempt to murder.

Last month a party delegation had met Chief Minister Arjun Munda and submitted a memorandum demanding withdrawal of the case against Bhattacharya.
