A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan on Wednessday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

The jawan, identified as Subinder Dawan of 74 battalion of CRPF, was on duty and fired at himself by his service rifle, they said.
After hearing the gunshot, officers and jawans rushed to the site and found Dawan in a pool of blood.
He was shifted to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The reason behind the suicide was not known, they said, adding that a case was registered and investigation was on. The CRPF has also ordered a probe into the incident.
