One person was injured when a crude bomb exploded near a medical shop under Cantonment area of Varanasi on Thursday night, police on Friday said.

The wounded -- identified as Nihal-ud-din -- was procuring medicines from the drug store when the incident occurred. He was taken to hospital.

The shop's window panes were damaged under the impact of blast, police added.
