Police said curfew was relaxed in Jammu, Samba and Udhampur districts and no untoward incident was reported from these places during the relaxation period.
In Jammu and Samba towns curfew, which entered the 11th day on Monday, was relaxed between 0500-1600 hours and 0500-1100 hours respectively.
However, except Jammu city, curfew in outskirts of the district has been given relaxation of only six hours from 0500 hours.
In Udhampur curfew, imposed for eight days now, was relaxed for five hours from 0700 hours, they said.
The people took out protest rallies early on Monday and burnt tyres and effigies of Governor N N Vohra in R S Pura, Gangyal, Rehari, Mishriwala, Trikuta Nagar, Muthi, Miran Sahib, Bishah, Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Billawar, Lakhanpur and Domail, they said.
"However, there were no violent clashes with police or army at any place. There were no violent protests. The situation is tense but under control," the sources said.
