Are there common links between the betting cases registered in Mumbai and Delhi?
In our case, we have arrested Ramesh Vyas who had links with bookies in Pakistan and Dubai, and from his interrogation some accused are common in both the cases. We will seek co-operation of the Delhi police and will also extend it to them as and when they need.
Is Sunil Abhichandani alias Sunil Dubai involved in the Mumbai case?
I will not reveal particulars of the case as our investigation is in the initial stages. But we are aware about Sunil Dubai who is active in the bookie circuit. He is wanted in our earlier cases; we are moving for action against him.
Has the name of Mumbai underworld or Dawood's gang surfaced in your investigations?
We know that Dawood Ibrahim is holed up in Pakistan and usually when the Pakistan link appears in the bookie racket, his gang is involved. We would be probing the gang's link in our current case.
Have you come across spot fixing in the crime branch probe?
The bookies wanted in our case, who have been arrested in Delhi, are the ones who were in touch with the players. It would not be far-fetched to say our investigation in the coming days could also lead to spot fixing.
There are reports of differences with the Delhi police.
We enjoy the best of relations with the Delhi police and its special cell, and they will continue.
