The Dalai Lama seems to be so impressed with filmmaker Shekhar Kapur's planned biopic on him that he has instructed his closest aides to assist the director in making the $120 million film.

According to, Kapur visited the spiritual leader at the end of 2004 and Dalai Lama gave him permission to turn his life story into a film.

Kapur plans to pay tribute to the Dalai Lama by creating his movie double using computer generated images rather than ask an actor to play him.
