Indian-born astronaut Kalpana Chawla's birth anniversary will be celebrated as 'Daughter's Day' and a discussion with the theme 'Daughters do us proud' will be organised on July 1 by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) in Bangalore to commemorate the anniversary of the astronaut, killed in a space shuttle crash in 2003.
"Daughter's Day will be a time to remember the achievements of the girl child. Against all odds, women have overcome gret obstacles and reached gret heights," PRCI Bangalore Chapter secretary C G Jayant said.
