Speaking on the occasion, Tripathi assured the villagers of providing assistance to solve their problems. He also ordered to resolve most of the identified problems on the spot.
As the programme began, director of ABSS, Bhagwat Prasad presented a list of problems to the Commissioner. 133 landless families, 48 families without houses, 70 families without ration cards, 39 persons suffering from severe diseases, five handicapped and 12 elderly persons not getting pension, 24 widows not getting welfare scheme benefits, and 150 children not having access to basic education were some of the issues raised by Prasad through the list.
Another major concern raised by him during the programme was that of sustainable livelihood of the villagers.
Tripathi had face-to-face discussions with the villagers and asked the concerned officers to look into their problems.
Many district and block level officers were at the receiving end as the Commissioner was not happy with their efforts to propagate the government welfare schemes effectively to the community.
Tripathi also distributed widow, old age and handicapped pension to around 45 people, allotted funds to 30 persons under the Indira Awas Yojana, besides granting many other benefits on the occasion.
