A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in a village near Nasik, police said on Tuesday.
Suresh Baburao Mhaisdhune (35) had taken loans from cooperatives and was finding it difficult to repay them, they said.
Apparently, fed up with the mounting financial burden, Mhaisdhune consumed poison at his grape farm in Mungsara on January 14. He died in the civil hospital on Monday, they added.
