Reviewing the Ardh Kumbh and pulse polio drive meeting at the Circuit House on Tuesday, Mishra said hospitals and other polyclinics should be set up latest by December 10, in the Mela area. “The Mela should be a no-fly zone with special arrangements for fogging and other anti-mosquito measures. The department should also not compromise with the material and goods’ quality, purchased for the Mela. There is need to provide quality service to every patient,” he added.
The principal secretary also assured to provide adequate funds for managing emergency and health services during the Mela. He said all the deputation of senior doctors in the Mela would be done by the DG (Health).
While reviewing the pulse polio programme, the principal secretary said there was need to spread mass-scale public awareness about the forthcoming polio drive. He said strict action would be taken, in case of any irregularity during the drive. The gram pradhans and newly-elected corporators should also be involved in the polio immunisation programme, he added.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Shantimal Singhvi said two polio awareness rallies would be taken out from Kareli on December 10 and Dufferin Hospital on December 11.
Also present at the meeting were DG (Health), Dr RR Bharti Director (health), Dr Pathak, Meladhikari Pragyan Ram Mishra, AD (health) Allahabad division, officer on special duty (Mela) Dr Murari Verma and Dr Padmakar Singh.
