They unanimously passed a six-point resolution to achieve their goal after lengthy discussions on ways to force the government to act on the issue and make not only Ganga but also every river in the country pollution-free in course of time.

Coming down heavily on the administration the saints lashed out at the government over its inability to stop the flow of sewer water in the Ganga despite noisy protests over the years. In the ongoing PIL saints decided to place all the relevant documents before the High Court as soon as possible.

It was felt that despite notices to the administration the government took no concrete steps in maintaining uninterrupted flow of water in the Ganga. By the government's action we could feel that it hardly bothered to heed to our persistent demand of ensuring release of pure water in the stream.

They also pointed a finger over the necessity of such heavy expenditure in the Magh Mela by the government when it cannot ensure purity of the river water which is so religious and dear to the hearts of millions of devotees who come here for a holy dip.

Disturbed over the state government's apathy in dealing with the situation the saints decided to carry out clean Ganga campaign on the national plain in a bid to draw the Central government's attention.

To carry out the campaign on the national plain it was decided to form committees which would persuade the people from the village panchayat level to join the stir.

Meetings and Yagya will also be held simultaneously. Dharmacharyas of all the sects will be persuaded to join the campaign. In matters related to religious fairs, the saints demanded their participation and also stressed on the need of having a law to this effect, if required.
