Rattan, while addressing mediapersons, said that it's most unfortunate and disappointing that a handful of anti-social elements at the behest of separatists still can't digest that the armed forces, who have come as "messiah" in the hour of grief and been putting splendid services by working round the clock to reach out to the stranded people across the length and breadth of the Kashmir Valley. He said that heavy rains and resultant flash floods have shaken the entire nation.

Rattan said that the army and other forces have swung into action and immediately undertaken major operations in Jammu and Kashmir to extend every possible help to the affected people.

"A force, which discharges multiple duties without caring for own safety, should never be insulted by throwing stones, rather it should be applauded and given salute", Balbir said, expressing hope that good sense will prevail on a few disgruntled elements.

Meanwhile, Rattan, while appreciating the action taken by the union government immediately after the outburst of the floods in J&K, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government has taken the incident very seriously and the same is clear from the fact that the PMO is keeping a vigil on the situation. Immediate visit of the PM, announcement of financial aid, dispatching of relief materials, besides deputing large number of army personnel and several NDRF teams, speak volumes for the efforts of the Centre and its commitment to the J&K people.
