The fate of 817 candidates who contested the December one assembly polls for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be decided on Thursday when the counting of votes will be taken up.

The counting of votes would be done in 12 centres spread across the city and the process start at 8.00 am.
Though early trends would be available within few hours of the start, all results are likely to be available by 2.00 pm, Election Commission sources said.
A strong posse of security personnel have been deployed at the counting centres where Electronic Voting Machines have been kept with political fate of several VVIPs, including Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and BJP heavyweight Madan Lal Khurana, sealed in it.
Altogether 53.2 per cent of Delhi's 84.88 lakh voters exercised their franchise, marking a three per cent increase over the turnout in last assembly polls.
Significantly, Moti Nagar constituency of BJP's chief ministerial candidate Khurana recorded the highest voting of 62.37 per cent.
Chief Minister Dikshit's Gole Market constituency witnessed third lowest turnout at 43.77 per cent after R K Puram (40.27 per cent) and Sarojini Nagar (43.63 per cent).
