The application forms have been simplified and students can opt for any college they like, unlike last year, where they were able to mark their choice for only ten colleges and eight courses at a time, University Vice Chancellor Deepak Pental said.

This year's application form allows students to choose for a course and the institution from a large number of options which was not the case earlier, Students' Welfare dean Satinder Vij said.

Pental said that the varsity was introducing the Optical Magnetic Reader System in the forms to avoid any confusion in scanning dates.

"This year, we are increasing the number of open days to help the students and parents consult the career counsellors to make right choice," he said.

Students can submit their application forms between June 1 and June 15 and the varsity has set up 16 admission information centres across the city for sale and receipt of the pre-admission forms.

The applications of the students would be collected from the centres and brought to the university where screening would be conducted. Later, the forms would be sent to the respective colleges which will bring out the cut-off lists.
