Demarcation of constituencies: Hearing on Sept 11,12

HEARING ON the demarcation of Parliamentary and Assembly segments of Gorakhpur, Basti and Azamgarh division will be held here on September 11 and 12 at the Convocation Hall of DDU Gorakhpur university.

HEARING ON the demarcation of Parliamentary and Assembly segments of Gorakhpur, Basti and Azamgarh division will be held here on September 11 and 12 at the Convocation Hall of DDU Gorakhpur university. Chairman of the demarcation commission, Justice Kuldeep Singh, Chief Election Commissioner N Gopal Swami along with others will be present in the hearing. While activities in political circle have intensified, chief secretary directed the district officials to tighten the security cover of the members of the commission.

The members would arrive here on September 11 and the in first round, hearing on the parliamentary seat of Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar and Maharajganj district would be conducted.

The members would receive complaints and suggestions from representative of various political parties and social activists.

In the second session, members from Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ballia would present their views and suggestion while on September 12 members of Sant Kabir Nagar and Basti would present their views before the member of the commission.

According to reports, 10 representative of various political parties have been nominated as members in the commission, including five MPs and five MLAs.

All these members would be present during the hearing.

Sources said Shriprakash Jaiswal, Brijesh Pathak, Santosh Gangwar, Ravi Prakash Verma, Prof Ram Gopal Yadav and MP Shivpal Yadav, Sukdev Rajbhar, Narendra Kumar Singh Gaur, Ram Naresh Yadav and Samarpal Singh are the members of the commission.

Those who have already registered their complaints before the commission, would be provided an opportunity to give the details regarding their objections.

Political leaders have started their exercise to put their views effectively as they will be affected by the reconstitution of Parliamentary constituency and assembly segment.
