Due to fluctuation in day and night temperatures, the virus is spreading rapidly. Around 100 patients have been admitted to the Hallet OPD with symptoms of dengue and chikunguniya.

The district health department has finally swung into action and set up a control-room at KMP Hospital. The officials have claimed that the control-room would function round the clock.

Akash, ( 7 years), son of Raj Sachdev of Lajpat Nagar lost his life today. The second child to succumb to dengue was Aman Kureel (6 years), son of Nandu of Jawahar Nagar. Aman was undergoing treatment at home for the past one week.

Due to financial crisis, his parents could not admit the child to any hospital.

The third person to succumb to dengue was a 52-year-old man.

His family members are claiming that the deceased was suffering from dengue but the health department and district administration say he was a diabetic patient.

Of the 250 patients admitted to Hallet hospital, 100 have symptoms of dengue and chikunguniya. Gagan (21), a resident of Mall Road, also tested positive for dengue late on Thursday evening.
