Dengue patient passes away in Chandigarh

A 17-year-old girl suffering from dengue fever died late last night in the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).

The patient, who was admitted to the hospital on October 26, has been identified as Ritu, a resident of Rampur Maniyaran, district Saharanpur, in Uttar Pradesh, a PGIMER spokesperson said on October 31.

She said that as many as six new cases of suspected dengue fever have been reported in the hospital in the past 24 hours.

She said out of 35 patients admitted in the PGIMER at present, two are from the tri-city.

Out of 17 patients tested positive, three are in a critical condition and till date 473 patients of suspected dengue fever have been treated in the hospital, she added.
