Yardy, a left-arm spinner and handy batsman, returned home on Thursday due to “depression”, re-igniting the debate on excessive cricket exhausting cricketers mentally.
“Leaving at this stage was a difficult decision, but I felt it was the only sensible option and I wanted to be honest about the reason behind that decision,” Yardy was quoted in a statement issued by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
