Deputy CM assures central varsity to be set up in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand on Thursday said that the Centre has given its nod to the proposal mooted by the state government for establishing Central University each in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand on Thursday said that the Centre has given its nod to the proposal mooted by the state government for establishing Central University each in Jammu and Kashmir.

Coalition government in the state is committed for equitable development in all the three regions of the state and assured balanced growth in each sector irrespective of region or any other periphery, the DCM said while interacting with the group of former ministers and deputations who called on him today.

To deal with rising water in Chenab, Chand asked the flood control authorities to be prepared and take all necessary precautionary measures to avoid any loss of life and livestock.

He asked the officers to declare emergency along the river and set up control rooms with officials from police, revenue and flood control to ensure timely information regarding the flood trends.

The DCM asked the flood control authorities to start works for strengthening of crates along Chenab in Akhnoor and Niki Tawi in Marh block, especially in those areas, where the water is hitting the bunds.
