Dhoni is GE Money India's mascot

The credit service provider intends to use the popularity of the dashing cricketer for connecting with customers.

Leading credit service provider GE Money India Monday signed up popular cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its first brand ambassador for strategic marketing of its products in India.

GE Money, a unit of the US-based General Electric Company, intends to cash in on the dynamic Indian cricketer's positive attitude and "can-do" sprit to connect with its customers, many of whom are passionate about cricket.

"GE Money is proud to have Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of India's most promising and positive young cricketers, as our brand ambassador," said GE Money India president and CEO Vishal Pandit.

"This partnership with Dhoni will help GE Money form a connect with its customers, many of whom are as passionate about cricket as they are about getting the best value for their money for their financial needs."

Dhoni said in a statement: "I am excited to be representing a global brand such as GE Money. From being approachable, flexible and always thinking innovatively to win, I look forward to working with GE Money to help people's dreams come true by saying yes to possibilities."
