Disabled Dalit woman ‘gangraped’
A 35-year-old deaf and mute Dalit mother of three was allegedly gangraped by five persons in Mirzapur village under Rabupura area on Sunday, reports Kapil Datta.
A 35-year-old deaf and mute Dalit mother of three was allegedly gangraped by five persons in Mirzapur village under Rabupura area on Sunday.
Her husband has lodged FIR at Rabura police station on Tuesday afternoon.
Rabupura SHO Tirpurari Diwakar, said: “The victim is Balmiki by caste. She works as a domestic help. On Sunday she was allegedly gangraped by five persons in Mirzapur area. Her husband is a safai karamchari at Noida.”
“Today afternoon her husband has lodged rape case against Bala Sharma, a resident of Mirzapur. She does not know the other accused. She stated that she recognize only one of them,” said Diwakar.
“Sharma runs a medical store at the village. She alleged that she was taken to the back of the store — a secluded spot. There she was administered some injection after which she fell unconscious,” Diwakar added.
Villagers alleged police had tried to hush up the matter initially.
