Hariom, who was talking to mediapersons, said that the candidates would have to take permission for installing loudspeakers on vehicles, holding corner meetings, organising processions and any other gathering.
He directed the subordinate officials to deal with iron hand the supporters of the candidates pasting posters and banners on disputed lands and religious places.
Dr Hariom said around 6.40 lakh voters would use their right to franchise in civic election. He further said the voter list included 66728 new names while the administration deleted 18523 names. The administration took the action to do away with the voters whose names figures in the list of two wards and those who died.
Responding to a question, he said that there would be 78 new polling booths and seven new polling stations this time. Elaborating it, Dr Hariom said in ward number 5, 23, 24, 33, 58, 62 and 67, seven new polling stations would be made.
He said at each polling booths there would be around 1400 voters and some new polling stations were proposed.
He informed that the new polling stations were proposed at primary girls’ schools Basharatpur in ward number 5, SP Public School in ward number 67, Gyan Bharti Vidya Mandir in ward number 23, Harish Chand, Children Academy in ward number 62 Bhimrao Ambedkar Junior High School, in ward number 24 SP children Academy, in ward number 33 and a junior high school in Alhedadpur in ward number 58.
He said, there are18 candidates for mayoral post in the fray and 695 candidates in the fray for the post of corporator from 70 wards of the district.
