District magistrate Ramendra Tripathi said on Saturday, “We are trying to find the parents of the child in Ashiana. They would also inquire whether there was any school called City Public School in the areas. ADM City-West, JP Singh visited Childline to inquire about the well being of the girl. District Social Welfare Officer also visited Childline to meet the girl”
“We are working on alternatives of rehabilitating the girl. We spoke with the coordinator of Manisha Mandir, an institution housing orphans in Gomti Nagar, for keeping the girl there. Qaiserbagh Police has been asked to investigate about the parents of the child on the basis of the information in the FIR”, he added.
A man who introduced himself as Ashwani Kumar Agarwal, along with another who was reported to be his father-in-law, went to a Childcare crèche in Lalbagh with this three-year-old kid, Vaishali for her admission on August 21, 2006 and did not come back to the crèche to take the girl back. Now, Vaishali is in the care of Childline.
