DLF announces luxury mall plans for metros

Construction giant DLF has announced its plans for building luxury malls akin to its prime project Emporio DLF in Vasant Kunj in New Delhi, in South Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai, reports V Nair.

Lack of space for luxury goods retailing India will soon be over. Construction giant DLF has announced its plans for building luxury malls akin to its prime project Emporio DLF in Vasant Kunj in New Delhi, in South Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.

In addition, the four million sq ft Mall of India that is coming up on the NH 8 near Delhi will also offer luxury retailing space to the global brands. Emporio DLF is slated to open its doors early next year.

Speaking to HT exclusively, Emporio DLF CEO Kajal Aijaz said the idea is to offer world class retailing ambience to the global luxury brands. “We will soon start working on our projects on other cities in India. Mall of India will be done by LA-based architect firm Jerde, responsible for the construction of the Mall of Minneapolis and the Edminton Mall in the US.
