Pro V-C RS Yadav claims that the DM merely comes for a morning walk like many others. “But when he sees any outsiders during examination hour, he asks the force to throw them out. Often he passes necessary instructions to his subordinates to maintain the law and order situation on the campus,” he says.

Interestingly, LU officials have forgotten the fact that they had themselves pleaded district administration’s support in curbing copying and manhandling teachers by the students. Facts don’t lie. Before DM’s frequent visit there has been many incidents of teachers being thrashed by the leaders.

But after DM’s frequent visit to campus, there has been no incident of teacher bashing. Surces says incidents of copying have also registered a sharp decline thereafter. But for all this, LU officials pat their back and simply acknowledge the support extended by the DM.

The Pro V-C argues that it would be extremely wrong to say that the district administration is conducting the varsity examination. He says: “I strongly object to it. The truth is that like many others, DM comes here for daily morning walk while it is our administration that is conducting the exams.”

There are reports that in one of the examination halls, some heated arguments between the invigilators and the flying squad team took place. But timely intervention of some senior teachers saved the day. A total of 27 copycats were held in LU and other degree colleges.

DM Tripathi says that wherever he goes it there with purpose. “I finish my morning walk by 5:30 am and go to the LU in the morning shift. I cannot stay the entire day there,” he says.

On the other hand ACM V supervised the progress of the examination at Shia College.
