DISTRICT MAGISTRATE Amrit Abhijat and commissioner Dr Lalit Verma expressed grief over the serial bomb blasts in Varanasi.

In a press release issued by the district information center, the DM and the commissioner condemned the killing of innocent people in the blasts. The officers appealed to the citizens to control their emotions and maintain communal harmony under such critical circumstances. The officials said that the incident was a preplanned act to disturb peace and harmony in the country.
It was time to test of our endurance and ability to control the situation, they said. The officials urged the citizens to cooperate with the administration to unveil anti social elements of the society.
Meanwhile, DM Amrit Abhijat and SSP Vijay Singh Meena in a joint action reviewed the security arrangements at the temples, railway stations and important public offices.
The officers inspected the temples located at the High Court , Rajapur, Civil Lines and Allahabad junction railway station, Kotwali area, Shahaganj, Cantonment area, Radio Station area and Dhoomanganj. Later the DM and the SSP directed city magistrate RK Singh, station officers and other officers to keep a strict vigil in the area and ordered the SDMs and the magistrates to remain alert and mobile.
