According to DMK sources, Karunanidhi directed four leaders including the General Secretary, K Anbazhagan, to rush to the national capital. Since Anbazhagan had pressing engagements in the city, he could not go and the other three left by air on Thursday evening.

Those who have left for Delhi are party treasurer, Arcot Veerasamy, Deputy General Secretary and Karunanidhi's son, M K Stalin and Principal Secretary Durai Murugan.
