Speaking at an election campaign meeting for the December 19 assembly bypolls last night, she said the DMK did not even name Radhapuram bus stand in Tirunelveli district after late Kamaraj.
The government had not even installed a statue of Kamaraj in Radhapuram, she said, and assured the public that the bus stand would be named after Kamaraj if she come back to power.
She said Christian Nadars were enlisted in the BC list only on her initiative when MGR was the Chief Minister.
In an apparent move to seek the support of Nadar community in the bypolls, who form majority of the voters, she claimed the community was able to retrieve the Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank from an NRI only after she took up the issue with the Prime Minister.
