The High Court granted interim stay to Nayak and others till Friday after a sessions court earlier rejected their anticipatory bail plea and refused to stay the arrest until they move the High Court.
Earlier, a special court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of suspended police sub-inspector Daya Nayak, wife Komal and associate Rajendra Padte in a disproportionate assets case.
The bail was rejected by Judge SP Mahajan, who observed that there was a prima facie case against them.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau opposed the bail plea, saying custodial interrogation of the accused was necessary.
