Rahul Dravid's career best 270 in the series-deciding Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi has helped him close in on the world number one spot for Test batting in the Pricewaterhouse Cooper cricket ratings.

West Indies captain Brian Lara reclaimed that position from Matthew Hayden of Australia with his record breaking innings of 400 not out in the fourth Test against England early this week.
Dravid is currently placed fourth behind Lara, Hayden and Australian captain Ricky Ponting, and his new ranking, to be updated later this week, will depend on how the third and final Test ends, a media release from PwC said on Friday.
