Dravid?s wicket crucial for Pak: Latif

FORMER PAKISTAN captain Rashid Latif said Indian skipper Rahul Dravid was the real wall between Pakistan and victory in the upcoming series. ?His wicket certainly holds the key for Pakistan. If Inzamam?s bowlers get him early in the entire series then they certainly have chance to clinch the series and avenge last year?s loss,? said Latif.

FORMER PAKISTAN captain Rashid Latif said Indian skipper Rahul Dravid was the real wall between Pakistan and victory in the upcoming series.

“His wicket certainly holds the key for Pakistan. If Inzamam’s bowlers get him early in the entire series then they certainly have chance to clinch the series and avenge last year’s loss,” said Latif.

The match-fixing whistle blower is in Kanpur as captain of Pakistan veteran cricketers to play with Indian veterans.

Accompanied by former chief Indian selector Syed Kirmani and Mohd Azharuddin, Latif described Irfan Pathan as an excellent bowler but pointed out he lacked control on his outswingers.

On Pakistan wickets, he said, Pathan would have a challenge up his hands though his inswingers are really lethal.

“I have played a lot of cricket with great Wasim Akram.. so I know where Pathan is lacking. He has a long way to go and cricket is a continuous learning process,” he said.

Overall, the upcoming series between two bitter rivals certainly was going to be quite tough, he said.

Both teams were performing well over the last six months and high on morale.
The series between the veterans is aimed at strengthening the bonds between the two countries.

“We are enjoying our stay in India like anything,” he said.

Latif observed that India as a country has undergone a lot changes as compared to his last visit in 1996.
