Dry spell at Cannes Film Festival

Not many passed the fashion test on Day 4 of the Cannes Film Festival. We couldn't help but feel that the turquoise Atelier Versace dress would look better on a taller woman than Eva Longoria.

Not many passed the fashion test on Day 4 of the Cannes Film Festival.

Doutzen Kroes: The Dutch model was a picture of elegance in her all-white Calvin Klein number with daring cut-outs. Only a model can pull off this tricky gown without looking tacky.
Eva Longoria: All her memorable appearances at Cannes are associated with sweeping trains, so this comes as a breath of fresh air. But while the colour is lovely against Eva’s skin, we can’t help but feel that the turquoise Atelier Versace dress would look better on a taller woman.
Jennifer Lawrence: The face of Dior turned up in a rather ho-hum creation by the fashion house. The gown may fit well, but there’s really nothing memorable about it. Her hair doesn’t work either.
Paz Vega: Stéphane Rolland gave us our least favourite look of the festival. The designer usually makes a great statement, but this sheer-in-a-weird-place white creation left us scratching our heads. Even the lovely Paz couldn’t salvage it.
Cheryl Cole: The singer was our favourite on the red carpet in this jaw-dropping Zuhair Murad creation. Her voluminous hair was swept back, allowing the embellished neckline to shine.
