The sub-committee set up to probe charges against Tiwari found him guilty of sexually harassing a research scholar of Hindi department by “his verbal and physical conduct, (which were) explicitly sexual in nature”.

The executive council dismissed him from service and served a show cause notice on him. Pending the reply on the show cause, Tiwari would be suspended.

“The apex committee found Tiwari not fit to be a teacher of Delhi University because of his conduct towards students of the university,” said Shiba C Panda, council member.

The sub-committee had recommended that Tiwari be demoted with reduction in salary and debarred from holding any administrative posts. The executive council exonerated Dass from charges that he had published the same article twice.
