He said that entry of criminals and mafias in politics had cast its shadow on the development projects in the region.

Adityanath said that India couldn’t make real progress without the prosperity of rural areas as our economy was agriculture-based and copying the economies of other nations would not produce the desirable result.

He highlighted the death of children due to starvation in Kushinagar district and grilled the State government’s insensitivity on this issue.

Adityanath said the agriculture sector and textile units could create job opportunities in the region.

The Union Government had approved textile and food park under Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) but lack of powerful will of the State government created hindrance in the project.

Prof Prakash Mani Tripathi demanded planned education focussing on job-oriented courses to check the increasing unemployment.

He said the density of population in eastern UP was very high in comparison to other states but alround industrial development of the region was a distant dream for the people of the area.
