EC issues notifications for elections in 4 states

This marks the opening of filing of nominations for Dec 1 polls in Delhi, MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

The formal process to elect new assemblies in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh was set in motion on Friday with the issue of notifications that marks the opening of filing of nominations for the December 1 polls.

With the issue of notification by the state Governors concerned, the filing of nominations will go on till November 14.

The Election Commission has also issued a separate notification detailing the schedule for December 1 polls in the four States.

Scrutiny of nominations will be taken up on November 15 and last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 17.

The notification for the assembly polls in Mizoram was issued on October 27 and the last date for withdrawals closed on Thursday. Polling will be held on November 20.
