Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police S S P Yadav's transfer after Election Commission directive has been welcomed by the opposition leaders.
Rajya Sabha member and former state home minister M V Mysura Reddy welcomed EC decisions," This should act as a deterrent to other officials."
While, bureaucrat turned politicians N Jaiprakash Narayan also welcomed the move to replace Yadav and said "Officers should discharge their duties sincerely without any bias."
Yadav was often involved in one controversy or the other. His running feud with fellow officers DG A K Mohanty and Additional DG K Aravinda Rao in particular often caused embarrassment to the state government.
Yadav had reportedly invited the wrath of the Chief Minister over the "mishandling"of the Satyam Ramalinga Raju case and at one point there was talk that he would be shown the door.
