Sinha and the ECC principal Dr M Massey also gave away the prizes for various competitions s organised by the Physics Society on the occasion.
Ruchi Chandola, Madhulika Rai and Tanisha Chopra bagged Ist, 2nd and 3rd prize, respectively, in the debate competition. Later, Dr RP Khare, Head of the Physics department gave a brief account of the activities of the Physics department during 2005-06 academic session.
The programme was conducted by Dr Anil Kumar Singh, Reader, ECC. He also urged the chief guest to elaborate the science policy of the country and US-India nuclear treaty.
RC Sinha in his address to the students emphasised on the importance of application of knowledge for the youth. He appreciated the faculty members and the students for the wonderful ‘Einstein Gallery’ made in the college to mark the celebration of International Year of Physics-2005.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Ajani Kumar Singh, Reader in the Physics department.
Course for the physically-challenged: Viklang Kendra Rural Research Society, Allahabad, is going to conduct the 4th batch of one-year diploma in ‘Community based Rehabilitation’ course, which is recognised by Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi (an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment), from July 1.
