A resident of Kathmandu, Nepal, Jeena Ketuwal, mother of a three and a half year old baby girl, was thrilled with the idea of reuniting with her child when she came to know that her husband was coming to fetch her and she would return to Kathmandu for the Easter holidays. This happened about a week ago. But all her hopes were dashed to the ground and Jeena nearly suffered a bout of depression when she came to know that Kathmandu was under curfew and the authorities had issued shoot at sight orders. With communications cut off and troops patrolling the streets, she could not return home to be with her child.
Yearning to see her child, she could not hold back her tears. The only solace for her was that her husband was by her side. Some family friends in the city also tried to comfort her. When would the curfew be lifted and life in Kathmandu be normal was the thought uppermost in her mind. But then suddenly Friday came as a day full of happiness for her when she received a call from her parents back home in Kathmandu that things had started becoming normal once again and that she may return.

Having left her child under the care of her in-laws, she came all the way to India to study health science at the AAI-DU. She gets to see her growing child for a few days only after a gap of every two or three months when she flies down to Kathmandu.
Back in the city to pursue her studies, Jeena counts days and waits for the moment when she would once again be with her child. But this time, the long wait became agonising when trouble in Kathmandu forced her to wait.
