The van driver lost control because of a tyre burst, causing him to smash into the other vehicle parked on a road near Manjhan, a town about 210 kms east of the southern city of Karachi, local police official Farid Jan said.
The accident killed the driver and seven passengers, including a woman, her five sons and a granddaughter, while four others from the same family were injured, Jan said.
Five of them died at the spot and the other three succumbed to their injuries in a hospital, Jan said.
No one was in the stationary truck at the time of the accident, but a man cleaning the vehicle was also injured.
