Elders enjoy to the hilt

IT WAS a pleasing sight indeed. Elderly persons were bubbling with youthful exuberance, ready to outdo competitors. They played chess, carrom, broke earthen pitchers blindfolded and ran in circles for chairs. The occasion was senior citizens? championship and venue was Karunadhan Ashram.

IT WAS a pleasing sight indeed. Elderly persons were bubbling with youthful exuberance, ready to outdo competitors. They played chess, carrom, broke earthen pitchers blindfolded and ran in circles for chairs. The occasion was senior citizens’ championship and venue was Karunadhan Ashram.

The competition was organised by the Shakitvahini Sewa Sangthan on Wednesday. In the pitcher-breaking competition Ramphal Jaisawal, Chitranjan Das, Chhuttu Lal and Ambadas were winners.

Chair race winners included B M Agrawal, Gopal Sahu and M S Gupta. In the carrom competition C M Saxena, R R Singji and D C Upreti emerged victorious while in bridge, M K Haldar, S Mukhopadhyay, R R Saxena and V P Dharma were winners. P C Dhunavat and S C Singhai were chess champions. Ashram’s head Sudesh Shandilya presented prizes to the winners.
