The Electro- homoeopathy practitioners are misleading the general public by using the term homoeopathy, which is totally wrong," said newly elected president of Central Council of Homoeopathy, Dr Ramjee Singh.

Talking to the mediaperson on his first official visit to Allahabad on Sunday Dr Singh said recently raids were conducted in Karnataka in which a number of Electro-homoeopathy practitioners were arrested. The homoeopathy medicine system is not at all related with Electro-homoeopathy and the name was used to make it popular and mislead the general public," he added.

Dr Singh said the CCH is also considering a proposal to provide allopathy emergency treatment facilities in the homoeopathic hospitals to save the life of extremely serious patients. The proposal is also on the cards to start PhD studies in homoeopathic colleges.

A three-member committee has been formed to work out the proposal. On the basis of the committee's report the PhD studies may start by 2007.

"With the recommendations of the CCH four new specialisation subjects have also been introduced for PG students. Earlier there were only three subjects.

The pathology has also started in homoeopathic colleges," he informed. Expressing concern over apathetic attitude of the State Government towards homoeopathic colleges in UP, Dr Singh said the homoeopathy studies were affecting because against the sanctioned posts of 126 teachers only 77 teachers have been appointed. Moreover going against its own policy the State Government issued no objection certificates to a two non-minority institutes in UP.
