Unlike other DU colleges that offer Journalism (Honours), IP offers Bachelor of Mass Media and Mass Communication which is basically a course in electronic journalism.

“Unlike the degree courses offered by other colleges, our course is geared more towards TV journalism. We are the only college with our own audio-visual studio, which has all the latest equipments and software,” said Manaswani Yogi, coordinator of the mass communication course. The three-year course was started in 1999 and is the most popular course of IP College today. The self-financing course is spread over six semesters. The all-inclusive course fee is Rs 26,000 for first year, Rs 28,000 for the second and Rs 29,000 for third year. The college imported audio-visual equipment worth Rs 2 crore in 2003 with the help of a grant from the government under the Japan Debt Relief Scheme. "We have upgraded our facilities since then," Yogi said.
