Rock star Sir Elton John has attacked Australian Prime Minister John Howard for opposing same-sex civil partnerships.

Howard and his administration stopped plans to allow same sex marriages and John is enraged with the lack of legislation to protect gay couples in Australia, reported Contactmusic.com.

When asked to comment on giving a message to Howard when he was in Australia recently, John replied, Up Yours.

John and his partner David Furnish were one of the first couples in England to be united in a civil partnership.
