Senior BJP leader Hriday Narayan Dikshit told reporters in Lucknow that that "the killing of PWD engineer M K Gupta in Auraiya district clearly shows the mafia character of the Mayawati government."
"This is a blot on the state government. The MLA had demanded huge sum of money from the engineer for the birthday celebrations of Mayawati", he alleged.
The BJP leader also charged that the BSP government is nurturing the anti-social elements and is running a campaign for the same.
"The entire incident of extorting huge sums of money is targetting the officers. Even traders are reeling under the atrocities of the state government," alleged Dikshit.
