Etah: 17, including five children, killed in tractor-truck collision

At least seventeen persons including 12 women and five children were killed when the tractor trolley they were travelling in collided with a truck in Etah district on Saturday, police said.

At least 12 women and five children were killed when a tractor trolley they were travelling in collided with a truck in Etah district in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police said.

The accident occurred around 10.45am near Harchandpur village under Malawan police station. Police officials said that 15 people died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.

Around 12 persons have sustained injuries in the accident, they added.

The victims were heading for a 'kalash visarjan' ceremony, when their vehicle collided with a truck.

Etah DIG Govind Kumar confirmed the death of seventeen people in the mishap.
