Kirpal Singh, 50, and two of his children - a son and a daughter - were killed on the spot while his wife and another son were rushed to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) at Chandigarh in serious condition.

Neighbours said that Singh was depressed for the last few days and was not talking to anyone. He had been re-employed by the State Bank of India as a guard in Chandigarh some time back.
