For children Holi is a celebration time, playing of colour, merry-making and eating lot of gujhiyas.

But for those who are appearing in various Board examinations, the spirit and excitement of playing Holi has waned with the examination pressure and consequent tension. They have decided to make the books their best friend during this Holi.

"Though it will be tough task, but I have to give it up this time. I will be busy with my studies during the Holi celebrations", says Shriya Mohan, a student appearing for ICSE.

Likewise, another student of class 10th Kinshuk says Holi celebrations are going to be very dull and monotonous this year for him and his classmates as the Physics paper examination is scheduled for the very next day of the festival.

Not only the tension of examinations has put extra pressure on the students during the festival time but the fear of falling ill during the examinations have also stopped children from throwing colours on their friends and neighbours.

"I can afford to enjoy the festival atleast for few hours but my mother has forbidden me to play with colours as I may fall prey to viral infection during this season", says Phalguni.

However, exceptions are always their. Some students have decided not to give it up and celebrate the festival of colours with fervour and zeal.

A student, Hina, has well planned to experiment with the magic colours which have made an entry into the market this Holi.

"Besides playing with colours during the morning hours, I will be visiting my friends and relatives in the evening to wish them and relish delicious gujhiyas", she adds.
