Experts to dwell on respiratory disorders

The best brains in the medical field will come together to deliberate challenges in the respiratory diseases, which has witnessed an alarming rise in the country due to pollution and poor awareness level. The event will be the '9th National Respiratory Update', a continuous medical education (CME) programme organised by Allahabad Medical Association on September 17.

The experts from Lucknow, Delhi, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut and Noida will share their views on the recent guidelines for treatment of various respiratory disorders. The scientific session will start with a symposium on tuberculosis. Dr Manoj Goel from Delhi will deliver lecture on 'Approach to a case of Haemoptysis'.

The other keys speakers will be Dr SN Gupta from Lucknow (Approach to a case of Pleural Effusion) and Dr BP Singh (Newer Diagnostic test for detection of Tuberculosis).

Dr Rajendra Prasad from Lucknow will deliver prestigious Prof BL Agarwal Oration.

He will speak on 'MDR Tuberculosis, Clinician's View Point'. Prof SN Gaur from New Delhi will deliver Dr Mohd Abu Nasar Moezuddin Oration on 'Unrelenting Bronchial Asthma'.A symposium on Bronchial Asthma will also be organised in the afternoon session.

The chief speakers will be Dr AK Singh from Kanpur on (Paediatric Asthma, Diagnosis and Management), Dr JK Samaria from Varanasi (Clinical Problems in Management of Bronchial Asthma) and Dr CL Arya from Meerut (Steroids in Bronchial Asthma).

This will be followed by Dr VN Mishra Oration by Dr SK Katiyar from Kanpur on ARDS Diagnosis and Management.

The eminent doctors who will share their views with other delegates include Dr Vikram Sarabhai from Delhi (Diagnosis and Management of Pulmonary Embolism), Dr Deepak Talwar from Noida (Severe Community Acquired Pneumonia and Role of NIV in COPD) and Dr CL Arya from Meerut.

The session will conclude with a lecture on Recent Trends In Management of Lung Cancer by Dr ML Bhatt from Lucknow.

A panel discussion on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) will also be organised on the occasion. TB and Chest specialist Dr Ashish Tandon is the organising secretary.
